On our most recent trip to the Walt Disney World® Resort, our family stayed at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. This resort features pirate-themed rooms, which my boys absolutely loved!

Our beds were shaped as “pirate ships”, and our particular room had a beautiful view of the water.
What our kids really enjoyed was the Island of the Caribbean Pirate Adventure offered at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. We dropped our two boys off at the marina for a treasure hunt, where they were greeted with a pirate name tag and bandana. They met the head pirate and the first mate then each little mate boarded the pirate ship. The ship “sailed off” as we waved goodbye. The boys had a ball; they were chased by bad pirates all over the lake and finally escaped; then they began looking for buried treasure. They followed clues to search for treasure on the beach, took a break and had snacks, and then finally found the treasure. After their two-hour adventure was over, they headed back to the marina where the "loot" was shared by all on board.
While the boys were on the pirate excursion my husband and I enjoyed a walk on the Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort grounds and a nice relaxing breakfast. It was well worth the cost of the pirate excursion, and the kids still talk about that fun Disney trip! Luckily, this adventure is offered from several other Walt Disney World® Resorts, so choose the one that’s most convenient for you.
