Disney Wonder Cruise

The Disney Wonder Cruise is underway on a wonderful ship, the Disney Wonder cruise ship, which resembles a modern cruise ship in the classic style of the great ocean liners of the 1920s. Everywhere one looks one is reminded of the famous mouse that started it all for Disney, from the characters etched in the railings to the miniature figures revealed in the ship’s china pattern.

Family activities abound on this vessel but there are plenty of things for adults to enjoy as well. Disney has a well-deserved reputation for providing activities and wholesome entertainment for all ages and every taste.

Disney Wonder cruises feature either 3- or 4-night Bahaman itineraries that are absolutely packed with onboard and on-shore activities and things to do and see, and of course, the usual abundance of shipboard cuisine to choose from. Three main restaurants are to be found on the Wonder, including the Animator’s Palate, an animation-themed affair with brilliant colors and animated walls; Parrot Cay, a Caribbean-themed restaurant and pirate décor; and Triton’s, an upscale dining room with stained glass and Continental menu. Other meal options include Italian cuisine from Palo, Beach Blanket Buffet, Pinocchio’s Pizza, Pluto’s Dog House and Goofy’s Galley. Room service is also available 24 hours a day.

Public spaces include works by famous glass artist Dale Chihuly, pools and fitness rooms, recreation areas and more. Internet access is available for teens in aloft, in the Promenade Lounge for everyone and in the Cove Café.

Stateroom accommodations on a Disney Wonder cruise are surprisingly larger than most other cruise lines, with clever options for families with children or just adults.

Disney entertainment options have something to hold the interest of every member of the family. Basketball, karaoke, ice carving demos, kite making workshops, wine tasting and art auctions are among the many diversions offered. Route 66 entertainment is more adult-oriented with dance skits, piano bars, a sports bar with plasma TVs, and more. Walt Disney Theatre features comfortable seating and several live shows with different themes. And of course, Disney characters appear frequently to enthrall their young audience.

Onshore ports of call and excursions include stops at Nassau and Castaway Cay for any of several adventures and activities.
